HOW DO WE MAKE IT?
Maintaining and carrying forward a tradition is not such a simple thing. Even for something
like idli and dosa batter. So I have made it almost like an unsaid rule at CURRY PATTA a classic should always remain a classic. Strictly no tampering!
I have made this idli and dosa batter using basic ingredients like Rice, Urad Dal and Poha and added salt to it. Every ingredient sourced from the best. Then of course, a good patient stone grind follows to create a beautiful creamy batter. Fermented just right, it is full of vitamins and minerals, but low in calories. Exactly how a good old batter should be!
ALWAYS FRESH – I love to see a fresh batch of this simple batter every day. Why? It simply is a pleasing sight. It also feels good to know that it is going to be used by a homemaker or someone else, to prepare a simple yet healthy and tasty meal. That is enough to please the chef in me!
HOW TO USE THE BATTER?
For best results
• Rinse the pack under running water.
• Bring the refrigerated batter to room temperature.
• Stir it well to a good consistency add water if needed.
• Taste the batter and add salt if you want to.
• For making idlis simply scoop up a portion of batter and pour it into the greased idly moulds.
• For dosas pour a ladle full of batter out on to a well-oiled pan and spread it evenly.
HOW DOES IT TASTE?
Whatever you plan to make – Idlis or Dosas – anything made
from this healthy batter brings out the real time tested and traditional taste.
HOW TO ENJOY IT?
Serve the round, puffed up soft idlis steaming hot, the dosas a crisp, golden brown !
Team them up with the Coconut Chutney, Sambhar or Gunpowder from Curry Patta.
The taste and enjoyment will go up to another level altogether!
